Hooper Grave Shelter
This shelter covers the graves of T. Jeff Hooper (Son of Dr. Enos C. Hooper)
and Piettia Catherine Colvard Hooper. Jeff never wanted his grave exposed
to the elements as his body was during his time in the Civil War.
The shelter was reinforced and re-roofed in October 2002

On August 16, 2003, Naomi Hooper Green and Karen Trull Jordan visited the graves of Clemmons S. "Boonie" Hooper and his older brother, Absalom Hooper. Boonie's grave lies way out in the country, two and a half miles round trip over a rough country back road.

Boonie was Naomi's 3X GreatGrandFather and Karen's 4X GreatGrandFather.

Absalom and Sarahs graves are in East LaPorte Baptist Church Cemetery, just off the highway.
